How we can help...
We aim to support families affected by the out of country appeal process and are happy to communicate with anyone directly affected by this policy. We are not lawyers so we cannot represent individuals facing removal from the UK or during their appeal from outside the UK. We can, however, support those without legal representation to meet the requirements of their out of country appeal and understand the process. For individuals with legal representation we can assist through maintaining regular contact with lawyers and ensure the requirements of the appeals are met.

The main barriers we have identified to meeting the requirements of appeals include:
-paying the £140 application fee
-submitting Form **** on time
-accessing videolink for the appeal hearing (from outside the UK)
-attending the appeal hearing as a witness (from within the UK)
-maintaining contact with loved ones during the appeal process
-accessing any form of legal representation

For families whose circumstances drastically change when a family member is detained and/or removed from the UK we can support them to try and minimise these affects. This includes providing practical and emotional support when facing changes to income levels, changes to the family dynamic and trying to support a loved one through the appeal process.

We can make referrals to other organisations where required and put those going through similar changes in touch with one another when requested.

Finally, we can support those wanting to speak out about their situation publically or through more private complaints processes.
